Hi,

Has sql server 2012 got auto patching features?

I am new to sql server, installed sqlserver 2012 on 17th March 2014. Today, I find out from the log that the server has been patched at least twice in the early morning. This VM should only be used by me; well in theory.

The current version is:
SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 11.00.3000.00

But I think, the installed version is:
SQL Server 2012 RTM 11.00.2100.60

Thank you for any comment and help.

Regards,

Zhuang

If it was auto-patched, then it's likely through SCCM or Windows Update. For servers, we only push the installer file down and then manually run it so that we can control when it happens as well as the failovers.
