There are some microsoft stored procedures that can be created and run to detect and troubleshoot deadlocks. Any info. on finding them would be greatly appreciated, no luck so far with any of microsoft's sites. Thanks!

sp_lock will get you started. You can also use it in conjunction with sp_who and sp_who2. If you look up sp_lock in Books Online you'll find more info on it.

Also read up on SQL Profiler, it allows you to trace various activities, including locking.
