Has somebody know where I can find concepts about shadow database. I like to merge some information from oracel and sql 2000 database in this shadow database

It sounds to me like what is being requested is incompatible in concept.

I take it that a "shadow" database means a database which has the same contents as the database it is shadowing. This could be accomplished by replication or log shipping. Of course with either of these methods there would be a delay before the synchronization occurred.

Now when one says that they want to merge some data in from two other sources (into the "shadow" database), this mean by definition that the "shadow" database is no longer a "shadow".

So, I am at a loss as to what you are trying to accomplish.

Maybe you could provide more definition on your original request.

By shadow do you perhaps mean you want to set up a mirrored database ?

certain RAID arrays can accomplish this i believe

Could this be as simple as creating Views that combine similar records from two data sources?

If not, Here is some information on database shadowing from HP that closely fits Oracle's use of the term.
