What's the deal with the office coffee? Every shop I've been in refused to make coffee properly.

2 tablespoons per 6 fl. oz. of water (minimum)

If I wanted hot brown water, I put my cup under the tap in the bathroom.

Is this an international problem or just localized?

Here in the northeast, there's two key words when it comes to coffee:

Dunkin Donuts !!

Not sure if you guys have those down in Baltimore.

I hope that's not SUGAR you're talking about.

My guess is, it's localiSed.

I'm very happy with our coffee, we just got a new machine which also makes 'Wiener Melange', 'Latte', 'Capucinno', 'Hot Chocolate' and Soup

I like it!

It's strong coffee with hot milk and milk foam(?) on top, and preferably honey

Melange = mixture, medley, assortment of things.
Weiner = a pork-esque sausage type thing. Also slang for...uhm...something...err...Shakespeare like's to refer to it as one's "sword"...

If you get my meaning, you'll understand my concern ...

LOL,

yeah, now I remember the 'other' translation of wiener. I've heard it before.

(FYI Wiener in this case is the capitol of Austria, Vienna)

Starbucks *IS* the way to go here!!

If you prefer something more localised, there's wonderful Turkish coffee (hmmm...how can it be turkish then?), really strong coffee served in a small cup. Dont drink too much of that though, it can give you constipation real bad

My office makes pretty good coffee here. If anything, it is sometimes too strong, but never hot brown water.

Large Espresso -
the way top go.
If you're feeling "girly",
the try an "Early Shirley" (filter coffee with an espresso thrown in).

Chai for me - Hot tea made with steamed milk rather than hot water.

WARNING - don't drink that guano that Barnes and Noble sells called, "Writer's Chai." That stuff is nasty.

Our office has a Flavia machine that makes either coffee or tea, one cup at a time. Each cup is consistant and there isn't ever any burnt coffee pot. There are lots of flavors of both coffee and tea. I think its the best thing since sliced bread!
