I am attempting to install SQL 2000 EE on a Windows 2003 SINGLE-NODE Cluster. I have tried several different ways, but I keep getting an error that a file cannot be found. (In searching the logs the file it cannot find is SQLCLUSTERSETUP.CPP)I have successfully installed SQL 2000 default and two named instances on the same server on local drives. We have since added a external disk pack to add cluster capabilities to Windows 2003. Installed the Cluster Service using both a local quorum and the quorum on external drives. Each attempt to install SQL 2000 has failed at the same point, with the same error. Is it possible to install SQL 2000 on a single node cluster? I know the books online talks about it, but it assumes that you are running a two node cluster in MSCS.If it is possible, what are the tricks to getting it to work. Thanks |

Ah true! I guess I misread your question. Do you have service pack 4 installed for Windows 2000?There was a webcast yesterday that MS put on that discussed something similar to your problem. I believe that they mentioned something about SQL Server 2000a had to be installed instead of SQL Server 2000. But that could have been the answer for another problem (I was trying to work at the same time that I was listening to the presentation).Tara |

My understanding is 2000a is the same as the RTM release + the patched ssnetlib.dll library to protect against SQL Slammer. I am not sure why this would be a requirement for install on 2k3, but our ms rep could be wrong about this info.-ec |

If you can tell me where to get one, I will be happy to try it.Where can I get SQL 2000a? |
