We are looking for a strong SQL Server 2000 Developer contractor with SQL Server application programming experience. The project is converting a FoxPro Database to Access / SQL Server 2000.

Excellent SQL knowledge (SQL Scripting) developing many ad-hoc queries
based on user requirements & / or converting logic from FoxPro & Access
code
No DBA work
No Triggers
No User Defined Functions
No Developer who users SQL Server only as a back end database
No one who uses DTS or Wizards to move data in and out of SQL Server
Good knowledge of SQL Stored procedures for complex logic queries
Good knowledge how to write good, efficient SQL code
Good knowledge how to write complex join queries (Inner Join, Left Join,
Right Join)
Good knowledge of SQL Server index tuning (from a programmers point of
view)
Access VBA a plus (VBA, Forms, Sub Forms & Reports)
Little to no travel
Scripts and code will be stored within SourceSafe
Some documentation will be required (routines & execution steps)
Mandatory Weekly status report (due EOD Friday)
Must be able to work in a team environment


A test will be given to each candidate. A requirements document will be given that
will require SQL Code to be developed to derive the correct results.

Perhaps the title should be SQL Developer rather than SQL Server 2000 Developer???

Wow... talk about jobs knocking on your door. I wish I could go for this. Would love to try out the United States for a few years.
But never mind, the company I'm contracting for has offered me a permanent position so I'm going to do the sensible thing and opt for stability.

Hope you find a suitable candidate soon!
