SQL Server and Reporting Services both are packaged with Windows 2003 SBS, but to use the Reporting Services a component of the Visual Studio .net is required to graphically create the reports. Does any component of the Visual Studio come with the SBS? I only ask because I assume someone here has the Windows 2003 SBS?Mike B |

I don't have SBS, but since it's Server software and Visual Studio is client/developer software, I'm betting the answer is no. However, at PASS they assured us that you could use ANY component of Visual Studio 2003, "even the cheap VB only edition" without having to purchase the full Visual Studio package.--------------------------------------------------------------Find more words of wisdom at http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/markc |

I believe as long as you have installed the .NET framework and have IIS, you are good to go. Am I mistaken on this?MeanOldDBAderrickleggett@hotmail.comWhen life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA. |

Yes and no on the mistake front. For report server to run, yes all you need is SQL Server, .Net Framework and IIS. However that does not provide tools to design reports, for that you need a copy of VS.-Euan |
