Think of it as a table with five columns A to E being split into two tables - one with columns A, B & C, the other with columns A, D & E. Notice Column A is common to both and would usually be your primary key or other unique row identifier column. It's usually used for performace gains on very large tables. Check out the 'Using Partitioned Views' section in BOL for a better explanation of the theory.Raymond |
