Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful April 1st here in the USA and I have an important announcement. I've been working on this for the last several months, keeping it very quiet while I secured all the proper trademark rights. As you have probably seen, despite the fact that there are notices all over the site that this site is dedicated to SQL Server, we still get a fair share of Oracle questions. I have had the "good fortune" to be working with Oracle for the last year and have to admit that I cannot find a forum out there for Oracle questions that is as knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly as this one is for SQL Server. So, in the spirit of the day, and with the belief that immitation is the sincerest form of flattery, allow me to announce the rollout today of OracleTeam found at http://www.OracleTeam.com/--------------------------------------------------------------Find more words of wisdom at http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/markc |

Brett, everything here is working just fine. I'm getting great feedback, too. Must just be an East Coast thing...--------------------------------------------------------------Find more words of wisdom at http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/markc |

That's great as the next version of Oracle will probably make sql server redundant. It will run t-sql and on multi-platforms.Also for it's implementation of the clr it makes row by row operations as efficient as set based so we can forget about sql entirely and code in VB or asp - only need to learn one language for database and front end.Now if they can automatically normalise we can forget about database design altogether.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
