Any tips/concerns about upgrading SQL7/Win2000 to SQL2000/Win2003? To minimize the downtime of production server, probably I have to choose the upgrade instead of install from scratch. Anyone has experience before? Thanks for sharing first. |

I would not recommend upgrading the box. You should start from scratch to avoid problems. It is a better idea to take the time to get the server configured correctly. Anyway, the tip that I have is to backup your databases first. Then do a detach from SQL 7, then attach to SQL 2k. This is the quickest way. You do the backup first just in case.Tara |
