Hi all,
I have not yet got the privilege of getting a look at yukon.
but a freind of mine is trying to connect to yukon server using
sql 2k enterprise manager. Is it possible to do so.
he uses dmo in his application and now they want to make it compatible with yukon server which uses SMO is there any thing that needs to be taken care of?

thanks in advance..
regards,
Harshal.

No it is not possible to use SQL Server 2000 client tools to connect to SQL Server 2005. It is not forward compatible.

Don't know the answer to your SMO/DMO question.

Tara

best place to ask these questions is in the public beta forums for SQL2k5.

Actually I put this forum here specifically for questions like this. The Microsoft newsgroups are also good for getting answers but I'd like to think that many of the questions around Yukon can be answered by the people that frequent these forums.
