| I'm trying to utilize sql server agent alerts(SQL Server2000). I configured alerts to react to any event of severity 0-25 similarly to "Demo: Sev X errors". (for testing purposes) None of them has ever been invoked as it is shown in Enterprice Manager console , although in Event Viewer there are logs that definitely should be responded by alerts. What may be the problem?Thanks |

| are the alerts failing or they're not just responding?if failing, check point of failure,if not responding, check if they are configured properly |

| I think Agent does not catch the event in event log at all. And alerts fail. Sometimes Sql Server Agent error log says :[log] unable to read local eventlog(reason:the handle is invalid) |
