Another question: When I right-click on SQL Server Agent, the Mail Session is grayed out. Anyone know why it would do that? I have a mail profile setup already. Weird huh?BrendaIf it weren't for you guys, where would I be? |

Are you an administrator when logged onto the server? Is the SQLServerAgent and SQLServer services running under the same user? What user is it?MeanOldDBAderrickleggett@hotmail.comWhen life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA. |

I created an account(SQLAdmin) and I am logged on as that. Then SQLSERVERAGENT and MSSQLSERVER both are set to startup with that account.BrendaIf it weren't for you guys, where would I be? |

I have SP3 installed.I uninstalled Office 2000. I was just thinking of using Outlook Express. I can do that right? When I uninstalled it, the Mail Session is NOT grayed out anymore. But now when I go to Control Panel, there is no Mail thing in it. Why would that be?I am sick of this whole mail stuff. I just don't get why it won't work.BrendaIf it weren't for you guys, where would I be? |

Nope, needs to be Outlook as SQL mail needs a mail profile and Outlook express doesnt set one up. Check out this article for some help:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263556Ben |

What article? That link didn't work. I used to have Outlook 2000 on there, and it still wouldn't work, so I don't think it will solve the problem.BrendaIf it weren't for you guys, where would I be? |

SQLTeam software doesn't always display urls correctly. Put semi-colons in the url where you see the spaces in his post.Tara |

I am trying to Install install SP1 for Exchange Server, but it says I need to install a hotfix first.Do you think that is why I am having problems? Because I haven't installed SP1 yet? Would that make me not be able to logon to the MAPI?BrendaIf it weren't for you guys, where would I be? |
