I actually posted this one to General SQL Server before I realised that there was a replication specific forumWe have a number of sql server replication topologies set up but they are all fairly simple. Basically Publisher, Distributors on one instance replicating to about 4 Subscriber instances.Has anyone out there had to set up something more complicated like a re-publisher or re-re-publisher.For examplePublisher, Distributor instance going to a subscriber, publisher, distributor instance going to another set of subscribers and so on.I am interested in hearing peoples experiences with such set ups.Regards Jim. |

yapit's not good practice but there was a needone problem i encountered is that if something goes wrong in the middle publisher, you have to go all the way back to the 1st publisher.also truncating a re-replicated is not allowed (which happens when you re-generate the snapshots)--------------------keeping it simple... |
