The fifth anniversary of SQLTeam.com passed quietly last month. It was over five years ago that I posted a few paragraphs on Identity Columns and called it an "article". After the first year I put up an article that talked about how SQLTeam.com started. This year I want to say Thank You.

Those links above (102+4592) are invalid...or the links as rendered for me anyway (by IE)...both point to "http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/<a"

But I do agree with mladen's comments...this place is addictive...
once the topics concentrate on the useful topics....SQL, Beer or YAKs.

I agree. There are plenty of places on the Internet to debate those subjects if that is what you want.

I try, not always sucessfully, to stay away from these when they start up here.

Whoops. Fixed. Had an issue with a stray quotation mark. Those darn things seem to like to travel in pairs.

See you at pass?

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.

I will definitely be at PASS this year. It should be a great conference. It's in Dallas this year where the SQL Server PSS group is located. They are doing quite a few presentations.

Congrats on the 5 years! I joined on 02/24/2001 and made a couple of postings up through 7/2001. I probably have only occasionally been back and have definitely not been here in at least 2 years. So why today? There was a really good article on how to store hierarchical data. There were a couple of approaches outlined and I'm back for a refresher! Hopefully I can find it.

Again, congrats!
