I have a sql 2000 Default instance and a sql 2005 Named instance installed on the same Win 2003 Server box. When I go to the sql 2005 Management Studio, I can add connections to both of them in the Object explorer. But when I close, and then re-open the Management Studio, the connections are gone! I expected both of them to remain so I could easily administer them. What am I doing wrong?

TIA,

Bill

Make sure you're adding them in the "Registered Servers" window and not the "Object Explorer" window. I made the same mistake.
