I was wondering if there is any easy way (or software) to take a currently existing database (in this case a SQL Server Express db) and export it to a script which could then be used to recreate the database? Or even to create and recreate select tables from that db?

Connect to the database server with SQL Server Enterprise Manager, open the Databases list, right-click on a database, select All Tasks, and then select Generate SQL Script... In the Generate SQL Scripts dialog box you can select some or all of the database objects to create scripts for.
