Well, it finally happened. robvolk is the first to make it over 1,000 posts. That earns him the title Master Smack Fu SQL Hacker . . . whatever that is. I've done some rather extensive research on how Rob reached the coveted 1,000 post mark and here's a breakdown of his posts by topics since his first post:

Office Space quotes (31%)
Obscure Yoda references (9%)
Bondi beach longings (22%)
Beer discussions (9%)
Helping users (3%)

The numbers are a little off due to rounding :)

Seriously Rob, thanks for all your posts on the site. It seems like just yesterday you were only at 500 posts on the site. I'm sure everyone you've helped appreciates the time you've taken to answer their questions. And brighten up their day with a Milton quote.

The beer discussions link is the thread that started all the sillyness here. It brought a bit of a tear to the eye reading that again.

Way to go Rob!

Actually you'd be suprised at some of the silliness you find buried in the site (http://www.sqlteam.com/FilterTopics.asp?TopicID=148). We try not to take ourselves too serious.

Graz, Damian, and all the SQLTeam regulars, THANK YOU! This site is the high point of my day, it sooooooo beats working!

Graz, I think you overstated the Helping Users stat, I think it's way lower (like 0.000002% or something like that). You definitely shortchanged Bondi and Beer, there's a LOT more than that!

- Now Milton, don't be selfish, pass it along.
- But...but...I...I didn't get a piece last time...
- Just pass!

What's funny is Graz's percentages tie out to exactly how much work Rob gets done in the office too.

So what score did you get on that test, Mike?

(for those of you just tuning in, Mike took a Micro$oft certification test and just barely passed. Since then he refuses to tell anyone what score he got on subsequent tests, so we harass the s#it out of him about it. This pastime is open to anyone who wishes to join in. It's fun!!!)

Micro$oft certification tests
naf
If you know what you are doing then you will not give the incorrect answers that microsoft expects so a scrape pass is good.
But then why would anyone take the test?

p.s. I'm feeling a bit jaded tonight (that's english for 'had a bad day at work, told board members their corporate strategy is crap, now pissed as a newt'
where's the emoticon for that

>> In the hope that one day we will be as good as you.

Surely you mean
'In the hope that one day we will be as good as you think you are'

or in truth

'In the hope that one day we will be as good as you know you are'

Surely you're not suggesting I'm being egotistical?
Or have you been out of work long enough to have taken some exams

I hope that graz remembers you in the SQLTeam.com Hall Of Fame...

For 24 hours on every anniversary of your 1000th post, the SQLTeam.com logo should be replaced with an image of Rob's choice.

Out of work, no. But I have taken one, hey if your employer is paying, why the hell not.

Hey, I'll get crap if I tell you the score, or if I don't, so why bother, right? This way, you can just go right into your day giving me a hard time and not worry about it. I thought I was helping!

Please choose an image of Ashley Judd...clothing optional

Failing that...Nicole Kidman...definitely no clothing

And if you can't get that one, then Laetitia Casta will more than suffice...
