here's some for the DBA:
1. it must be the firewall/network
2. ask the developer
3. pass me the connection string you used
4. did you drop that database? it was there yesterday!
5. you're not the only user to the server (complains program is slow) and besides you need to consider traffic, bandwidth, the weather,etc...

and my number 1 solution to every developer's problem with enterprise manager... REFRESH

oh that's a policy maddy not an alibi

but if you're aiming for a raise or promotion, creating a small disaster at around 4:30 pm will do wonders, then resolve it by 5:30 pm
the boss gets to enjoy his weekend knowing you saved it for him

More for the DBA version:
“Try upgrading your client service pack.”
"You’re using SQL 7.0. That problem is fixed in SQL 2000.”
“You’re using SQL 2000. That problem is fixed in SQL 2005.”
"Try it again."

Another one

Programming was done based on the requirement specified.

If Debugging is the process of removing Bugs then i Guess programming should be process of Adding them.

"Programming was done based on the requirement specified"

Do you expect anyone here to believe that?

Or were you referring to the revised specification - rewritten to match the product provided??

Do you expect anyone here to believe that

Well, where i use to work previously it was quite a small organization
of around 11 people so there anyone who is going to client for some
update use to get any requirement and when the stuff doesnt work as intended.. so they use to say this..

If Debugging is the process of removing Bugs then i Guess programming should be process of Adding them.

ah memory lane...

there's a bit of a drizzle, since the cables are all out in the open, this causes some latency, so you'll experience slow network connections

The programs I maintain never have bugs ... only inconviniences.

-- This one's tricky. You have to use calculus and imaginary numbers for this. You know, eleventeen, thirty-twelve and all those.

1. It's microswift! what do you expect?!
2. I am not sure if it is the server or the dbms or something else.
3. Check again or try it later and see if it comes back.
4. Can you show me that error again? I cannot recreate it.
5. Hmmm... I'll let the developers (or someone else) know about it.

May the Almighty God bless us all!
