hi
using this connectionstring on a remote machine

Data Source=xxx.xx.xxx.xx,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=pharmaxis_db;User ID=pharmaxis; Password=!!@@

i get SQL Server does not exist or access denied

but using it local i can connect to the db

any ideas whats wrong?

Is their a firewall in between the client and the database server? Is the MSSQLSERVER service started on xxx.xx.xxx.xx? Are you sure that the port is 1433?
