 error while attaching database

hi all
i am working on sql server 2005
When i am trying to attach database in my server i am getting following error. Plz help me to fix this error.
the error as as follows :

Attach database failed for Server 'myserver'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

The error is saying that sysindexes doesn't have an entry for the clustered index of sysobjects - its not going to attach using regular means.

Was the database previously damaged before it was detached?

Do you have any backups of the database?
