Right now when i go into EM i have SQLDEV the name

I need to change this to FINANCESQLDEV

The machine is called SQLDEV

If i rename my machine as to i get the SQL EM to use FINANCESQLDEV
instead of SQLDEV

Do i have to run a command in SQL at all..

You can simply un-register the server then re-register it with the new name.

You'll need to check out the article in BOL that describes what you need to do to SQL Server when you rename the server.
