Hi,
Is there any good way to switch default instances? Our current default instance is running sql2000 and we have a named instance running sql2005. We are looking to install MS Team Foundation Server which is the replacement of Visual Source Safe (appears to be a much better product). Unfortunately, the default instance needs to be sql2005. Is there anyway to switch around instances? I'd really like to keep the sql2000 instance but it can't be the default.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is no way to do this easily. You must do an uninstall/reinstall plus restores.

bummer, thanks for the reply. I think we might just use a different server.
