i have just passed my 70-229 design sql 2000 exam. it is the most unprofessional exam i have ever done. I have done .net exam with no problems.

The questions are very confusing and misleading. They are not really testing your sql skills. Some of the questions have several answers. For example, they want u to do something to reduce future mainteinance, they never tell u what is future mainteinance. In a question about partition, More table can mean more mainteinance coze a dba has to monitor more table and do more file group planning. Fewer table can mean more mainteinance as well, coze a dba has to troubleshoot more performance issues...

The level of difficulty of the question is not high, in fact some of them is for moron... but the way it presents is horribly poor

The most frustration is the questions are found in the somewhere else before in other software and in the internet.Microsoft is so lazy to update the questions..

it teaches me one lesson, mcdba mean nothing, coze i don't think it is valid certification for sql 2000

one more example, they will ask u like "how to improve the performance of the db from queries", but they never tell u what query they are running. I have only done 25 questions from ucertify before, if not, i will fail straight away, and btw, I think I am quite strong in sql server.

total nightmare. I don't have this experience when i am doing the other exams in .net

Now you understand a lot of frustration database professionals feel about certification.

MS changed a lot of certs when .Net was released, but the SQL Server 2000 stuff is not part of it. Probably not worth taking any of those tests now, wait for the 2005 certifications instead.
