I have just purchased the new server, and have installed it in the rack at my hosting company.
We have loaded SQL 2000 on the server, and have done a backup and restore.
I can connect to the server through Remote desktop connection , but for some reason, I cannot connect to the database remotely.

What Could be the possible reason.{Please help}

From where are you trying to connect? What error you are getting?
Make sure you have set proper authentication mode on the DB Server.
