Not sure what happened, but I came back from vacation and was doing some manual backups.

I was using EM with no problem.
I first backed up the database with the Wizard. Did a full backup and put it on the local share.

Next, I went to backup the T-Logs using the wizard and was going to back it up on the local disk as well.

However, I get a errors. A box pops up and says:

The volume on device D:\Backup share\<name of DB backup> is not part of a multiple family media set. BACKUP WITH FORMAT can be used to form a new media set.
BACKUP LOG is terminating abnormally

Any ideas?

May be your backup file is part of stripped backup set...
Use FORMAT option or delete the file before running the backup...
