Prices in michigan for gas are ridiculious...we are close to 2.60 a gallon. So I did some searching online and so many people are talking about MPG caps and how they help on gas mileage. Is this stuff for real? Has anyone tried these caps? If so what are the results ?

Man I need to sell my yukon :|

If you saw the snow in michigan you wouldn't dare buy a small car...if you dont have a 4x4 you're screwed.

That's cheap, well as compared to Southern California. No matter what your highest price is over there, we can easily beat it here. It just sucks! But then we get the weather benefit, so no complaints here!

I agree with that, when me and my wife and some friends went to cali last year we couldn't believe how expensive gas is in cali...not only gas but virtually everything, even the local fruit markets down there.

And L.A was pretty hideous when it came to traffic...boy I'd feel bad for anyone running out of gas down there. Cali is beautiful though, if you havent been there, especially driving into it from Las Vegas, NV. The mountains, the palm trees...San Diego was nice..the beaches are a must as the water and sand was 100% different then Michigan beaches *yuck*.

You can't really compare different countries as everything is different: cost of living, taxes, salaries...

No you can't as the reason why our price is the way it is has to do with what I mentioned. Same with why your gas prices are the way they are.

As mentioned before when this topic came up, most places in the United States do not have adequate public transportation available. There are only a few places in the US where you can get around without a car, which makes having a car a necessity for most of the US. I can't change this. I have no power to change it. I own a car and will always own a car as a result.

Lots of action in your area I hear!
This is interesting,
is it actually true that it is "unsafe" to walk/ride a bike/take the bus/whatever in your area?!

I mean, do you take a higher risk in those cases than when you take a car?
You know where I live, the MOST dangerous transportation method is by car, highest injury rate compared to any other transportation method...

PS. jez, to clarify, I was not calling you stupid, just the "Problem"
