Hi
Could anyone please point me in the direction of some information that would let me know whether the sql server 2005 client tools, including reporting services, report builder etc can be used with sql server 2000.

Cheers

SSMS works with 2000 without problems, but it's mainly for the relational engine, not reporting services.

For RS 2005, there is Business Intelligence Developer Studio (BIDS) which a separate app from SSMS. I don't know if it works with RS 2000.

You can register RS in SSMS to manage it.

yes, but SSMS is not what you use for building reports, etc. BIDS is the dev environment for RS.

That's right, I didn't say you can build report in SSMS.
