I've been playing around with VMWAre a little and having some problems. The VMWare forums have been down for over a day now so I thought I'd try here.

I'm running Vista and trying to install XP in a virtual machine. I can boot off the CD in the DVD drive but it quickly asks me to insert the CD-ROM in drive A:. Which is odd because I don't have a drive A. Has anyone else made this work? Or more importanly had a similar problem?

Isn't there an alternative virtual machine that MS was offering? Something about a free period for "migration to Vista" or somesuch. Sorry, old age has got in the way, I can't remember the details.

Might even have only been something to do with having IE 6 and 7 installed alongside each other.

HA!

Of course I searched my own forums. Ummmm... yeah. Well, I sort of searched. Errrm, well I just searched my memory -- which is oddly empty right now.
