im configuring my server its windows 2003 and 1 gig ram. i am going to use this computer as dedicated server for sql 2000. Is it better to enable static memory allocation or dynamic? :)

sql server takes all the memory it needs.

there is an option for sql server to set the minimum and maximum size of memory and also there is a fix size of memory.. i mean does fix or dynamic memory allocation affects the performance of the sql server.?

yes it does.
if sql server lacks memory it will read data from disk. and that is not good for performance.
