Please provide some details, where are you attempting to access the SQL Server from, what have you typed in for the servername? If you are not on the server itself are you able to ping the server? Have you ensured that the SQL Server service is started on the Server you are attempting to reach? Enable tcp/ip and/or named pipes on sql server then try to connect with those protocols. |

Error came from shared memory, it's protocol for local connection only. |
