| I love these puzzles! But I think this one is a bit easy (so far, I'm only up to 14!).I've played ones before where you have to scour the source code for clues - I'll see if I can find one later tonight |

My son took the PSAT yesterday. He answered every math question except one, which had him stumped. Take a shot at it:X^2 + 16X + A = (X + B)^2A and B are constants.The equation holds true for all values of X.Solve for A. I tried three different approaches before I got it.e4 d5 xd5 Nf6 |

In 8th grade our science teacher made us memorize the first 20 elements, in order. not only that he made us take a quiz every day until everyone in the class got 100%. I remember taking that quiz every day for weeks. great way to pad your grade if you memorized them all early on.a truly pointless exercise but to this day I still know them. (created a sort of rhyme, pronounced like this: Heely-beeb, snoff-nee-na, migalsipes, clarka)so I felt rather smug when I got to "argon" and didn't have to look it up!

Six minutes! Pretty good, jim! I took two stabs at solving it purely algebraically, until I keyed in on the fact that the statement holds true for all values of X. So, substitute One and Zero for X, and then just solved the two simultaneous equations.e4 d5 xd5 Nf6 |
