Hi,

I am working on a database that resides on a shared instance of SQL Server. The database is utilised by a desktop application and a web application.

I am putting forward a case for a dedicated instance of SQL Server as I understand that it is bad practice to have a shared instance for a production server.

What are the other benefits for moving to a dedicated instance?

Thanks
Kabir

It is not true that it is bad practice to have a shared instance in production.
