Team,

Our production sqlserver service was restarted last week.

we want to know who restarted the sqlserver service.

Please share your experience.

Check login records in the SQL log, but I think by default SQL logs unsuccessful login attempts only.

Checking Windows log, that may help too.

verified the windows log,but there was no details or login that specifies the sqlserver restart.

Check who was logged just before, at Server level. It may give you a clue.

Like I said before, if MS-SQL has not been configured to do a full audit, successful events won't be recorded on the SQL log I think.
