Is there such a thing as Active/Active/Passive Clustering in SQL 2012. I read where someone said since an instance can run on only one node, then the other would not be using any resources. Kind of confused me; but nevertheless is this Active/Active/Passive, really just Active/Active? Any ideas out there?

An Active/Active/Passive cluster would be a 3-node cluster where 2 of the nodes had at least one SQL instance running on it, and the other is waiting for a failover to happen.
