That is funny. The culprits will probably return the sidekick due to the publicity this has gotten, especially considering that one of them is in the military.

Could be the wave of the future. I can imagine the next successful internet business: e-gotcha.com; like myspace.com but with a vengence.

I don't know. It sounds from the emails like this will only end with police intervention, which should be only in a few days.

The guy seems more than a little CRAZY.

Why not just call the vendor to have the phone shutoff, and call the cops to deal with the thief?

What exactly will the web site do, other than make some other crazy guy mad, and maybe provoke a tragic confrontation?

What a waste of time...why they didn't file a report right away is amazing...now the guy who doesn't want publicity will be on good morning america this Friday

I thought it was mildly entertaining for one day. Funny how he initially was supported, then doubted, then supported, etc.

If this had happened to me, I think I would have posted the pictures as well. Hell, I might have milked it a little more hoping they would use the phone a little more.

He didn't play his hand very well if he was looking for pure publicity. I guess he did well enough to get on the morning news show, but his 15 mins is almost up. He could have turned this thing into internet legend if he had played it right.

First, to all of the readers of this thread, the blind dude and myself have hung out in dbforums for awhile.

Second, I have a problem with this. Blogging is like putting a gun in to a monkey's hand. I feel that there need's to be more responsibility when you blog even more so then as you are in person. Unfortunatley the opposite at most times is true (See Crespo24 posts as an example). In most cases it's an imature outbursts. (See Crespo24 posts as an example). In this case, it's a blantant attempt, AND EVERYONE jumps on the bandwagon. Right or Wrong. True or False. Fact or Fiction. They have no clue. It's like people are sheep. Feed them a line, and they suck it in, hook, line and sinker. I wish fishing were so easy.

That's what frosts my cookies.

Plus I also have a problem with an adult being so irresponsible with what amounts to a very expensive toy that they "have to have". It's these stupid status symbols that also annoys me.

Now add Stupid Status Symbol + Whining like a baby on the behest of some unknow third party + WHO KNOWS IF IT IS TRUE IN THE FIRST PLACE, equals, yes it disturbs me.

Big MOO

P.S. One thing I do know, that there is NEVER a true depiction of what really happens from one person. Actually I believe it was the guy in the grassy knoll.
