Hi all, first time poster. I'm hoping you can help me with a server problem that seems at least tangentially related to SQL.I recently built a new 2003 Enterprise server with SQL 2005. 8GB RAM and dual quad-cores, with two HP RAID controllers connected to 4x72GB and 4x146GB dual-port SAS drives.I've received complaints that the server is slow and unresponsive - not SQL itself, which services our application quite speedily, but on the Windows Explorer/desktop side. I know that 2005 Mgmt Studio is known for being slowish, and I've chalked the issues up to that until now, but I would like to hear if anybody has had similar issues and if they've found any solutions. Thanks for your input. |
