My company is thinking of developing a utility to monitor SQL activty. Such as Jobs, SQL schema changes, SQL envirment changes (eg. if a programmer changes an alias name for example on one of the dev servers) etc... We would also like the utility to include DBA contact information. So when a job fails the the database monitors can call the appropriet DBA for support. I was wondering something exists other there we can purchase? If not I guess I have to open the C# books....

btw does anybody know if Job Active Monitor in SQL Server 2005 can be call from command line with some parameter such as server name. Or it can only be called from Managment Studio.

thank you all,

Andy Ansryan
