My company is thinking of developing a utility to monitor SQL activty. Such as Jobs, SQL schema changes, SQL envirment changes (eg. if a programmer changes an alias name for example on one of the dev servers) etc... We would also like the utility to include DBA contact information. So when a job fails the the database monitors can call the appropriet DBA for support. I was wondering something exists other there we can purchase? If not I guess I have to open the C# books.... btw does anybody know if Job Active Monitor in SQL Server 2005 can be call from command line with some parameter such as server name.
