i,I am reviewing the overall performance of our global web platform. I am pondering over weather to make a recommendation to increase the memory of the machine. We are running SQL 2000 Enterprise edition on Windows 2000 Server the total physical memory available on the machine is 2 Gig. Total server memory is 1.6 Gig (From System monitor memory object). The buffer hit ratio seems to be quite high running at 99%. The SQL cache memory (again From SQL Monitor) is 9MB I am assuming this is the DATA cache. Does any one know if increasing the data cache will further improve performance, and also if possible how would I increase the buffer cache. |
