Author  Topic  tiredcat Starting Member 1 Post Posted - 2007-04-03 : 12:42:02 Hi I am trying to create a datasource in vb.net 2005 with mssql 2000, but the connection failed saying 'error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified' while connecting to MSSQL 2005. I don't have MSSQL 2005 but only MSSQL 2000. I had the SQL 2005 which was with vb.net 2005 developer edition but I uninstalled it before I installed the MSSQL 2000. I couldn't find any solution, I have already changed/enabled the protocols in the SQL Server--> Client Network Utility. but still it is not working. Any suggestion will be much appreciated and I am really lost with this error. I can't go on further steps. Tks
