Hi,

I have a job setup to call 4 stored procedures. If the first SP fails I want the job to fail.

In the first SP I check for a certain condition and if this isn't true then I want the SP (this job step) and job to fail.

I have tried the RETURN statement and the RAISERROR statement but the job just skips to the next step when it reaches either of these statements.

Is there anyway I can force the job step to fail?

Did you use RAISERROR with a severity of 16? And is your job step configured to quit the job reporting failure?
