| according to this article http://www.winnetmag.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/40404/40404.htmlfrom my understanding on the article, temporary tables are recommended for larger data sets as they provide parallel query plans and although it didn't say for a fact that SQL creates poor processing plan, it's implied.I'm a bit confused, can someone shed some light on this?thanks a bunch...--------------------keeping it simple... |

thanks Tara, I read the article yesterday and the bottom line was to test the sproc creating the temp table against if it's using a table variable.i was hoping someone already did oh well, just in case, I'll make some tests, but if someone has done this before, please share your findings so we can compare notes...TIA--------------------keeping it simple... |

| Well the tests would need to be run for each stored procedure/query though. You wouldn't be able to take someone's word for it since your query will be different.Tara |
