Why do you want to do this?"Store the document in the file system and just keep a pointer to its location in the database. This will save you lots of pain."-------Moo. :)

I believe you can use the ADO Stream Object to send files to stored procedures. This article might be helpful, or search for help with google:http://www.betav.com/Files/Content/Whitepapers/Using%20the%20ADO%20Stream%20Object%20to%20Manage%20BLOBs.htmCODO ERGO SUM

Wow that's easy.Better not do it though. Not best practice. Now I gotta work out how best to full-text index a directory with a set of sub directories so that I can just store a pointer in the database instead. That is a good idea isnt it? Full-text index a directory I mean.Would you still be able to query that simply though? Could you still search for all people that have certain text in their doc files on the hardrive and return the text of the doc in a column in the query next to the PersonID column for example?

Is it really necessary to direct sarcasm at people who are trying to help you? That seems to be counterproductive if you want to get help in the future, and someone doesn’t answer your question because they were offended the last time.CODO ERGO SUM
