Is it possible to be able to set it in Reporting Services layout formats and have it apply to Excel when it exports? For example the border can be apply when it is export to Excel. My question is, can I have it display the grayish border, kind of like borderless but you can see individual cells. It makes it very hard for users to see the cells without having the cells in there. I try to apply the bordless cell to it from Excel, but it doesn't work. All I'm getting is white. |

In the actual report itself ? If so you have to apply a border to each cell and set the width to .5pt.It gives an excel look to it afterwards...you may also want to change the border color from the default solid black to the light grey.Jon Keeping the web experience alive -- http://www.web-impulse.comImperfection living for perfection -- http://jhermiz.blogspot.com/ |

So this is the only work around right? There's no way to set it so that it can still have the bordless look? Your solution works, but only in the section of the data. The rest of the excel page is white. |

can you screen shot me what you are trying to do. This is the only way I know of to get an excel look to your report..there is no option in reporting services for borderless looks with borders :) Keeping the web experience alive -- http://www.web-impulse.comImperfection living for perfection -- http://jhermiz.blogspot.com/ |

The borderless look in Reporting services doesn't matter to the users. What they wanted was when exporting to Excel, the borderless is lost and all they see are just white spaces.I'm not sure if it's just me or everybody is getting this borderlessness when exporting to Excel. I even try adding in the bordelss form excel, but that doesn't work. The only workaround I've been telling them is to copy the entire worksheet and paste it to a new one. |
