I need to display dates in dd/mm/yyyy (preferred) or yyyy/mm/dd (acceptable) format on my forms and in my reports. Since I am a neophyte when it comes to developing in Access and neither of these options are available from the format pull down list in the table I am baffled. Please help if you can, they think I am somewhat of a genius here and I hate to blow my cover. Thanks! For those that understand no explanation is required, for those that do not none will sufice |

>>Please help if you can, they think I am somewhat of a genius here and I hate to blow my cover.Even a genius should not be afraid to use the Help feature. I know I use on-line help all the time.Select the text field on your form or report, be sure the "Format" property is selected, and hit the F1 button. Read and enjoy. |

Ok, Im not that dumb =). Help is not installed - asks for a cd I don't have when I try and use it. However I did figure it out, I thought when you used the pulldown for date formats you could only choose from the ones offered. I got frustrated and typed in the one I wanted and it worked. Thanks for your help though =)For those that understand no explanation is required, for those that do not none will sufice |

You can type your format string directly into the format property (you don't have to rely on the pre-defined ones). Literally, just type in the strings you have above.Post back if you have a problem... CheersPS - These are NOT "Non-Standard Date Formats" for the rest of the world!!! (only for you yanks!!)--I hope that when I die someone will say of me "That guy sure owed me a lot of money" |
