is it possible after a database has been created to change its Collection name? if yes hten how?

Yes, but you'll probably have to recreate all the tables and "migrate" the data from the old to the new.

Someone setup the server as a binary collation/sort order. Is it CP437_BIN? How old is this SQL Server installation? Back in the 6.5 days, it was slightly faster to use the binary sort order. Unfortunately, several companies have never switched off this, which can cause some integration issues with many third-party applications.

To change the collation on a server, lookup "changing collation settings" and "changing collations" on the index tab of Books Online. Books Online is included free with SQL Server.
