Srikanth Anne writes "Hello Guys: I have a scenerio for you guys and would like to know how SQL Server tackles it:Scenerio: I have a log shipping set up every 15 mins from the primary server to the secondary server and i would like to know what happens when a full backup is taken during the 7th minute? Full backup does clears the Transaction log and does that mean that the prior 7 mins transaction logs are not available for log shipping? Thanks in Advance." |

"Full backup does clears the Transaction log"It does?Surely only the transaction log backup clears the Transaction logHowever, I do believe [but could be completely wrong] that a long-running full backup will prevent transaction log backups from running - so there may be a delay.Kristen |
