Can anyone help me with this question? Referencing the attached link, Microsoft says you can use the following scenarios for licensing SQL Reporting Service. I am considering 2B or 3A. My question is what would we really gain by using Enterprise Edition for the Report Server, because the database would reside on the DB server running Enterprise anyways. It seems like since we only need a SQL 2000 license on the Report Server machine, then Standard Edition would suffice? Also, if we purchased Enterprise Edition license for the Report Server machine, would a single processor license be good enough?Thankshttp://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/previousversions/rs/howtolicensers.mspx |

I'm not sure this matrix applies to SQL 2000. Thanks for the information. |
