Hey guys

I am just curious to know if there is a performance knock (Im assuming there is) on retrieving data from one DB to another.
ie. SELECT [ID] FROM [Database2].[dbo].[MyTable] where we are currently calling from [Database1].

Also noted is that the physical DB files are located on the same HD (raided/single drive).

Thanks In Advance...
J

Not a lot - it has to check permissions but that's about it.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
