| I have developed an application in dot net\sqlserver 2000.I need to include the sql scripts which contains only stored procedures in the installer(setup).What type of grant permissions needed for a DBO on stored procedures. |

| If the account that your application uses to access the db server is in fact a DBO (and it shouldn't be for security reasons) then you don't need any grant permissions because its the...dbo (database owner).There are many different security models you could use but...one case:If the account your app uses to access the db server is just a user or role, then you need to "grant exec on <sp> to <userORrole>". If your stored procedures access tables in an other database or if you use dynamic sql to select from tables then you will also need to "grant select on <tb> to <userORrole>". (The user needs be have access granted to the other databases as well) There is lots of good info in Books Online regarding security.Be One with the OptimizerTG |
